Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or using Credence Credit (the "Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Credence Credit is a personal credit-utilization and money-management tool. It provides educational information, OCR-based receipt and card scanning, AI-assisted insights, and recommendations based on data you enter or capture. Credence Credit is not a bank, lender, payment processor, credit bureau, financial advisor, tax advisor, or investment advisor. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Users should independently verify financial information and make their own financial decisions.
3. User accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for safeguarding your own devices. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live).
4. Plans and billing
- Free plan is free.
- 30-day Premium trial — new accounts may be automatically enrolled in a 30-day Premium trial. No payment method is required to start the trial. Premium features become locked when the trial ends unless you subscribe or purchase Lifetime Premium.
- Premium (monthly) — $7.99 USD per month, billed in advance through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your account; you'll keep Premium access through the end of your current billing period.
- Lifetime Premium — a one-time purchase of $99.99 USD processed through Stripe. Lifetime Premium grants ongoing Premium access tied to your account. Lifetime memberships are non-transferable and may not be resold or assigned to another user.
- If a payment fails, Premium features will be paused until billing is resolved or your subscription is canceled.
5. Refund policy
All sales are final. Canceling a monthly subscription stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period. Lifetime Premium is a one-time, non-refundable purchase. If you believe you were charged in error, contact support@credence-credit.us within 30 days and we'll review on a case-by-case basis.
6. Receipt and card scanning
The Service includes OCR and AI-assisted features that scan receipts and credit/debit cards. By using these features you confirm that you are authorized to capture the documents you scan. The Service extracts the last four digits of payment cards only; it does not store full card numbers, CVV/security codes, expiration dates, or cardholder names from scans. OCR and AI extraction may occasionally make mistakes — you remain responsible for verifying every value before relying on it.
7. AI features
AI-generated recommendations, insights, payoff strategies, and content extracted by OCR are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They are not financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. The Service may produce inaccurate or incomplete results; you must independently verify any figure or recommendation before acting on it.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to access the Service in unauthorized ways; (b) use the Service to harass, defraud, or harm others; (c) upload malicious content; (d) scan cards or documents you are not authorized to capture; (e) impersonate another person; (f) violate any law in connection with your use of the Service.
9. Your content
You retain all rights to data you enter or capture. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to operate the Service for you (including OCR, AI processing, artwork recreation, and analytics described in the Privacy Policy).
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including its name, logos, and software, is owned by Credence Credit. You may not copy or redistribute it except as expressly permitted.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or use the Service abusively. On termination your data may be deleted after a reasonable period.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee specific credit-score outcomes, debt-payoff results, or the accuracy of OCR / AI output.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CREDENCE CREDIT AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Credence Credit from claims arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue features and update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
